Your Standard Bank ChequeCard has these features and benefits:

Debit card
You can use your card as a debit card. Purchases and cash withdrawals are taken off your cheque account.

PIN and/ or Signature based
You will need to input your PIN and/ or sign the slip provided when paying for purchases.

The amount you spend is limited to the money you have available in your cheque account.

Your card lets you do the following:

  • Withdraw cash
  • Make deposits
  • Make account payments
  • Request mini statements
  • Make balance enquiries
  • Do inter-account transfers
  • Prepaid top-ups

When you use your cheque card at an ATM, the cash withdrawal and electronic account payment limits set by you apply.

An annual fee is charged and includes lost card protection. A fee aligned to the pricing on your cheque account is charged for each transaction. If you have a Plus cheque account, your monthly fee includes a number of free transactions. Click here for more information on fees.

Additional cards
You can have up to three additional cards linked to your account, but you will need to complete separate application forms for each card.

Guarantee cheques
You can use your card to guarantee cheques up to a pre-set amount by completing the certificate on the reverse of the cheque, where applicable.

Travel insurance
You receive free travel insurance when you use your card to pay for airline tickets. Optional extra cover is available at a fee. Contact your branch or call 0860 100 484 for a quote. Terms and conditions apply.
